TikTok username checker

Type a username to see whether it is taken, who has it, and what that account looks like — free and instant, before you commit to a name.

With or without the @ — we clean it up. Public accounts only.

How it works

  1. Type the username — with or without the @, we clean it up.
  2. We check it live — one lookup against TikTok's public data.
  3. Get the answer — available or taken, and if taken, who has it.

What you get

  • An instant read on whether a name is free, without trying to register it
  • If it is taken, the public profile behind it — display name, follower count, video count and verification status
  • A direct link to open that account on TikTok
  • Free, no login, no app install

Who uses a TikTok username checker

  • New creators — confirm a name is still free before you build a brand around it.
  • Brands and agencies — check a batch of candidate names before opening a new account, so you do not collide with an existing one.
  • Community managers — confirm whether a name belongs to the official account or an impersonator.
  • Anyone with a name idea — check it, then move on to the next if it is gone.

What this tool does not do

It only reads publicly available profile information. It does not access private accounts, does not log in as anyone, and does not store personal data. The availability result reflects the moment of the lookup and does not reserve the name. If a name is taken, the only fields shown are the ones TikTok publishes to a logged-out view — never an email, phone number or sign-up date.

Looking for a name rather than checking one? The username ideas page lists hundreds of suggestions by vibe, each with a one-tap check. To read a full account's stats, the follower counter and the viewer do that from the same public data.

Frequently asked questions

Is the TikTok username checker free?

Yes — unlimited single checks, no account needed. Type a username and the answer loads in a moment.

Can I check a username that is already taken?

Yes. If it is taken we show the account's publicly visible profile: display name, follower count, video count and verification status. We never show private fields such as email or sign-up date.

Does this reserve the username for me?

No. Checking only tells you whether a name is in use. To claim one you have to sign up or change it inside TikTok — the result here does not lock it for you.

Can I check several usernames at once?

Single checks are unlimited and free. If you are choosing between a few ideas, check each one here, or skim a list of suggestions on the username ideas page and check the ones you like.

How accurate is it?

We check against TikTok's public data at the moment you run it. Usernames can be claimed by someone else seconds later, so check again right before you register.

Can I find a person by their display name instead?

This tool checks exact usernames. If you only have a display name, the profile viewer can open that account once you have its @handle.
